Sales Director - SMART TV Advertising Platform - Germany (Home Based)

An exciting opportunity has arisen in the cutting edge area of SMART TV for a well connected Sales professional to help build a network of advertisers (both agencies and direct brands) to help fill the Premium Inventory that has been ammassed for this new advertising solution.

With a similar Ecosystem to that of a Mobile Advertising Network, this solution is geared towards the newest technology in the TV market and ultimately allows you to advertise your brand directly into a consumers home via their set top box.

As a consequence, this will be a new channel of brand marketing that will quickly become a mainstream solution. This particular solution are on the cutting edge of this space and have partnerships with many of the manufacturers and thus, are in a good position and first to market, allowing you to approach your network with a cutting edge solution that no one else currently offers.

Position Overview/Responsibilities

The new EMEA Digital Entertainment Advertising team presents a unique opportunity for a smart, highly self motivated and driven Sales Director to grow advertising revenue and our business  in Germany from the ground up. Our new EMEA Advertsing business is already gaining significant revenues across Smart TV and digital platforms and we need an innovative individual to help us take advantage of demand in Germany.

 

This new role reporting to the Advertising Business Director EMEA will be based in Germany (we are flexible about where) and will involve generating advertising revenues from the German advertising market, from both advertising agencies and clients directly, particularly in the entertainment sector, including for example; TV channel and program promotion, film/video on demand and pay per view services.

 

Candidates will be experienced in and have a thorough understanding of Advertising, multiplatform media and emerging market trends. They will need to understand the logic of and then be able to practice a consultative two call sell approach to selling advertising campaigns and will be expected to call on both clients directly, media agencies and also creative agencies.

 

A skillful a communicator who is fluent in both German and English, with; experience in, understanding of and contracts within the German advertising market a is required. They must be able to work hand in hand with both the agency and client as well as being able to diplomatically and professionally to re assure any agency “overprotection” towards their clients if necessary (this will be increasingly important in the first 12 to 18 months of the role).

 

The successful candidate will have an enthusiastic personality and be able to inspire potential clients with creative ideas. They will have high levels of initiative and self confidence, good listening skills, be credible and posses the ability to be able to communicate with conviction.

 

They will be able to make lively, interesting and relevant presentations to potential advertises, but be able to reinforce points with research and metrics to justify the case. They’ll be used to and comfortable with closing the deal/asking for the order and also be happy working within a structured sales system which focuses on key performance indicators and ultimately revenues against agreed targets. They will be a good networker who is able to use assertion where necessary and who knows the difference between “making contacts and signing contracts”

 

Specific elements of this position will include:



  • Generate new business revenue and build long term lasting relationships which will optimise future revenue growth


 



  • Source, identify and secure new business opportunities and new advertising clients in Germany.


 



  • Visit clients directly and advertising agencies conducting fact finding meetings and making sales presentations


 



  • Achieve set revenue targets.


 



  • Work to agreed KPI levels, in particular, call and presentation levels


 



  • Keep accurate records and use the company’s CRM system, “Salesforce” effectively


 



  • Provide accurate reporting and forecasts of projected revenue from identified client base.


 



  • Understand and execute the companies sales policy and standards within the marketplace.


 



  • Work well with and interact constructively as part of the overall EMEA team.


Qualifications:

Experience and Background



  • Extensive knowledge of the German broadcast and digital advertising marketplaces, particularly emerging trends in television/video viewing and advertising


 



  • Ability to self manage/act independently on own initiative, prioritise and multi-task..


 



  • A track record of success and over delivery against agreed objectives and expectations.


 



  • At least 5 years experience in advertising/media, ideally from a broadcast and/or digital background.


 



  • Sharp, smart and an eloquent communicator.


 



  • Strong questioning, listening and presentation skills


 



  • Assertive with the ability to influence, but also able to use empathy


 



  • Able to accept and utilise feedback, training, and coaching


 



  • Highly positive attitude and outlook.


 



  • Drive, determination and willingness to quickly learn both new and established-but-unfamiliar systems


 



  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.


 



  • Higher Education/Degree.
