SPANISH COUNTRY MANAGER/MD - BARCELONA - ECOMMERCE

A trememdous opportunity has arisen for an E-Commerce professional to be come involved with a well known brand and group, who are currently planning entry into the Spanish market.

Having operated in the UK for over 10 years, they diversified their brand 18 months ago and moved into France and experienced a great deal of successs and now wish to replicate that with a similar operation in Spain.

As a consequence, they require a E-Commerce professional to assume control of the project and ensure the product is ready to launch at the beginning of October.

The Country Manager/MD will be responsible for all aspects of the new business start up in Spain but will be fully supported by a strong and established team in the UK. The individual will work with the Group International Development Director to complete a detailed launch plan and then look to implement the plan. They will be responsible for establishing a competent team of people, which will expand on the growth of the business and ultimately be responsible for driving the business forward. The expansion plans are very demanding so the Country Manager will need to ensure to be ready for the challenge.

The Opportunity:

• Working directly with the group International Development Director, you will complete and implement an operational plan that ensures every aspect of an on-line start-up business will be in place.

• Initially you will be required to spend a reasonable amount of time in the UK to learn the business and get to know the team in the UK. You will also work with the UK team and a Spanish Marketing Manager to prepare the web site for launch in the Spanish Market.

• A role of genuine influence and autonomy, you will establish and develop a new team and provide business leadership across the Spanish office.

• Your first tasks will include (but certainly not be limited to) locating and negotiating an agreement on a suitable office space in Barcelona, recruiting a supplier contracting team and establishing a basic activity gifts portfolio that will be suitable for launch.

• You will be responsible for reporting the results, achieving the business objectives and ultimately for delivering sustainable sales growth and returns.
